Pre-fabricated waterproofing membrane made of distilled bitumen and plastomeric polymers (APP) having a woven non woven composite polyester reinforcement, which provide the membrane with good mechanical characteristics and excellent dimensional stability.

The versions V & VA have a fibre glass reinforcement, with excellent dimensional stability. The versions VA & PA are self-protected on the upper face with mineral slates which reduce superficial heat absorption improving the durability of the membrane. The self-protected versions have a side selvedge of 10 cm and upon request a head selvedge of 15 cm, to improve adhesion between the sheets.

Supertec plain and mineral capsheet

Prefabricated modified composite polymer-bitumen waterproofing membrane, composed of distilled bitumen and polyolefin elasto-plastomeric polymers (APAO) having excellent characteristics and an ITC Agrement n° 634/05. SUPERTEC P & PA are reinforced with a woven non woven single strand composite spunbond polyester fabric, having excellent mechanical characteristics as well as dimensional stability.

SUPERTEC PA 4,5 kg/m2 is self-protected on the upper face with mineral slates which reduce heat absorption, improving the durability of the membrane, and has a 10 cm side selvedge and 15 cm head selvedge to promote the adhesion between the sheets. Further available finishes include talc, sand, P.E. film & polypropylene mat.

Maxitec Anti-Root

Pre-fabricated membrane made of distilled bitumen and elastoplastic polymers (APP) specifically indicated for use on structures where vegetation is foreseen (for example roof gardens, buried works etc). The excellent and long lasting performance of Maxitec Anti-Root is provided by the reinforcement and waterproofing mass, with a special chemical product (Preventol B2 Bayer) added which confers a very high resistance to both root penetration as well as aggressive chemicals such as fertilizers, herbicidals, etc.

The 'anti-root' resistance of the material does not in any way affect the plants. The membranes are used with success for the waterproofing of both civil and industrial works where it is necessary to prevent the aggression of plant growth which may damage the integrity of the waterproofing layer, for example roof gardens, parking lots and underground works, retaining walls, flower boxes etc.

Maxitec Vapour Barrier

Pre-fabricated waterproofing membrane for specific use as a total barrier to the passage of vapour.The waterproofing mass is made of distilled bitumen and elastoplastic polymers (APP), reinforced with a rot proof fibre glass reinforcement and aluminium film which provides a barrier to the transmission of vapour.

It is also available with a special woven fibre glass tissue reinforcement that confers to the product exceptional mechanical characteristics and excellent dimensional stability. Due to these characteristics, the range of membranes are used with success in the waterproofing of both civil and industrial works, with the use of thermal insulation, as an absolute barrier to the transmission of water vapour.

Perfobase

Perfobase/V has been studied and produced by INDEX to guarantee the uniform distribution of the bonding areas while using a torch, with no particular expertise of the operator required. It is a perforated, reinforced fibreglass mat, impregnated with special polymer modified bitumen which is compatible with both APP and SBS bitumen membranes.

Applications:

The product is used for spot bonding membranes with a torch. It should be used as a first connecting layer to avoid the formation of blisters in waterproofing membranes applied on concrete which will remain visible to the eye. It acts as a vapour diffusion layer if it is used as a connecting layer between a vapour barrier to be applied on a cement substrate of environments with a high level of relative humidity.

Plura Self-Adhesive

This range of membranes is used with success in the waterproofing of both civil and industrial works, with the use of thermal insulation, as an absolute barrier to the transmission of water vapour. In the stratification of the roof, the product must be positioned under the insulation, in order to preserve it from water vapour condensation, which can occur with the excursion changes of the thermal conditions of the roof.

Applications:

The Plura Self-Adhesive V.B. range is used with success in the waterproofing of both civil and industrial works where required, with the use of thermal insulation, as an absolute barrier to the transmission of water vapour.

Prominet ALU Polyester

Prominent is a vapour barrier membrane designed by INDEX to resolve the problem of waterproofing where insulation panels must be bonded without using molten oxidized bitumen or cold adhesives or mechanical fastening. The product prevents time being wasted waiting for cold bond adhesives to set or risks of burns when installing molten bitumen, along with a significant reduction in waste and pollution, and long setting times of cold glues.

Applications:

Used as a vapour barrier for insulation panels or stave-coupled insulation such as Thermobase which can be bonded to the membrane by heating the top face of the membrane with a torch. Prominent/V is used for roofs of places with a standard level of humidity, while Prominent ALU Polyester is used on the roofs of very humid buildings such as laundries or buildings in the textile industry etc and air- conditioned buildings with a relative humidity of over 80% at 20°C. Prominent Polyester is more resistant and can take nails, therefore it can be used on roofs of residential buildings with a wood floor.

Proteaduo Triarmato

A multi-layer composite polymer-bitumen waterproofing membrane with a reinforcement impregnated with SBS-modified bitumen. The lower layer in contact with the laying surface is made of SBS-modified bitumen, while the upper layer is made of APP-modified bitumen.

It has a special composite prefabricated three-layer reinforcement, where the fibreglass mat is compressed between two layers of 'non-woven' Spunbond polyester fabric and so cannot damage the bituminous mass. Proteaduo Polyester is also reinforced with composite 'non-woven' polyester fabric which is stabilized with fibreglass mat to guarantee stability in hot conditions, while at low temperatures it behaves like a pure polyester reinforced membrane.

Due to the high heat resistance of the top polymeric layer, it can be covered with hot-laid bituminous conglomerate. The product can withstand exposure to the sun’s rays without heavy protection, but a coat of light coloured paint is always recommended, especially when applying on insulation. This will help to reduce the effects of thermal shock and also help to insulate the roof.

Tectene Re-Roof Base Strip EP Polyester

Tectene Re-Roof Base Strip EP membrane is coated on the lower face with strips of a special adhesive elastomeric compound that is activated by heat, which determines a strong, safe and long-lasting semi-adhesion bond. The contact surface is about 40%, much higher than that of perforated screens, which do not exceed 20%, thus guaranteeing a much higher resistance to wind in view of the larger adhesion surface.

Applications:

It is designed for single-layer reroofing of old bituminous coverings, whereas Tectene Re-Roof Base Strip EP Polyester can be used both as a single-layer and as the base layer of double-layer reroofing on which a further membrane is subsequently torch-bonded. Both types can be used on flat or pitched roofs, up to a pitch of 15%.

DEFEND ALU/V

The Defend series of membranes are used as a vapour barrier layer of thermal insulation materials in construction covers. These membranes consist of non-porous, elastoplastomeric polymer-bitumen which, in itself, is an excellent barrier against vapour migration. There are three types of membranes:

Defend/V for the vapour barrier on roofs of rooms with low and medium humidity (RH at 20°C ≤80%). It is protected with a rot-proof reinforced fibreglass mat. It is also used as a sub-layer for double-layer waterproofing coats, to give dimensional stability to the top layer reinforced with polyester.

Defend ALU/V for the vapour barrier on roofs of insufficiently ventilated rooms with high humidity (RH at 20°C ≥80%). It is reinforced with a 60 micron aluminium foil, which is insuperable by vapour migration. The foil is associated with a fibreglass mat which increases its stability and mechanical resistance.

DEFEND ANTIROOT POLYESTER

Defend Antiroot Polyester is a root resistant waterproofing membrane. The antiroot properties are obtained by adding phenoxifatty acid ester, a specific antiroot agent, to the polymer-bitumen compound. Once applied, it forms a continuous barrier against roots. As it does not contain film or double-reinforced foils, it is more flexible and malleable during application.

The additive has been developed specifically as a root inhibitor, for both hot-laid bitumen and for torch-laid bitumen membranes. The reinforcement of the membrane consists of a single strand Spunbond nonwoven polyester fabric, with high basic weight. This fabric is isotropic, rot-proof, thermally fixed and has high mechanical resistance, considerable ultimate elongation, excellent resistance to punching and laceration.

It has both faces coated with Flamina, the hot-melt film, which stops the rolls of material from sticking together. The reinforcement and the waterproofing mass are resistant to chemical effects of humic acids and fertilizers. It is used in all waterproofing systems in contact with the ground or where there is the risk of the system being attacked by roots.

INDEX FIRESTOP

Firestop membranes are fire resistant with harmless inorganic anti-flame additives distributed right through the membrane. They can be applied without any protection on both flat and pitched roofs, even on insulating layers with high thermal resistance. The fire resistant properties are long-lasting and controlled constantly at the factory.

The three versions of Firestop membranes differ in terms of the type of mix: Mineral Helastopol Firestop is with elastomeric polymer-bitumen base, Mineral Elastocene Firestop is with polyolefin elastomers and copolymers polymerized with metallocene catalyst, while Firestop Polyester is with elastoplastomeric polymer-bitumen base.

ISOLONDULA

A pre-shaped trapezoidal sheeting panel with lateral rabbet joints made of self-extinguishing sintered expanded polystyrene coupled hot to a 2 mm thick waterproofing membrane in elastoplastomer polymer-distilled bitumen, reinforced with rot-proof glass fibre with side and head overlaps. The panel is shaped to measure in order to match the profile of the asbestos roof and obtain a flat surface on any design.

Applications:

Used to repair and restore old fibre cement roofs and asbestos cement sheets without having to demolish them. This entirely avoids the costs related to their transport to landfills and the purchase and installation of their replacements. Shapes other than the ones normally produced can be supplied upon request.

ALUTRIX 600 Self Heal Vapour Barrier

ALUTRIX 600 self-adhesive vapour barriers are used in a wide variety of applications in the building industry. They are suitable for all internal conditions, including very high humidity. They consist of a reinforced composite aluminium foil with a self-adhesive backing and removable release film.
